Why this drawing service matters

Coordinate the systems that make the proposed space work.

Building permit reviewers may need to understand electrical distribution, plumbing fixture arrangements, equipment locations, ventilation and how new services connect with existing conditions.

We clarify which MEP disciplines are actually required and develop the corresponding drawings from verified equipment, site and architectural information. Technical sizing, energy reports and licensed design review are separately identified where needed.

What makes our approach usefulElectrical, mechanical and plumbing scopes are itemized rather than sold as a vague package, making equipment assumptions and specialty reports clear before drafting.

What your MEP drawing package can include

Sample sheets and plan information

A practical sample drawing list for MEP

An organized sheet list helps explain the work, clarify what belongs in the package and identify specialty items that may need separate documentation.

North Carolina permitting

North Carolina review requirements depend on the site and work.

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing permit documentation may be reviewed by separate North Carolina code disciplines. Trade licensing and equipment specifications should be coordinated with the contractor.

HVAC sizing, ventilation compliance, fire protection and energy documentation may be required in addition to basic plan layouts, depending on the project.

Project-specific zoning, adopted code editions and plan review requirements must be confirmed with the city or county. See the North Carolina permit plan guide. Our drafting work is not a guarantee of permit approval or a substitute for surveying and independent licensed professional review where required.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about MEP

Can I order only electrical or plumbing plans?

Yes. You can request a single discipline or a combined MEP package; the written quote identifies each included trade.

Do you provide Manual J and energy compliance forms?

They can be coordinated or separately quoted when required, but are not included automatically with MEP layout drafting.

Does this service include a survey?

A recorded plat or existing survey can be used as an input where appropriate, but boundary or topographic surveying is a separate professional service. The exact property documentation needed depends on the proposed work and jurisdiction.

Can the drawings be signed and sealed?

A North Carolina licensed architect or professional engineer may need to review, sign or seal portions of the work. Any required professional services must be specifically included in the proposal and accepted by that professional after independent review.

What if the permit reviewer requests changes?

Send written city or county comments. We assess corrections within the original contracted scope and identify extra services if the reviewer requires new disciplines, reports or changes to the original design. Permit approval remains with the jurisdiction.
