Why this drawing service matters

A professional seal follows responsible review, not a payment.

Some structural, civil and specialty permit documents require the judgment and seal of a properly licensed professional. A complete review may involve calculations, field information, design assumptions and corrections.

We help assemble your existing drawings and supporting documents for review, identify missing information and coordinate the scope with an appropriately licensed engineer. The engineer independently decides whether to accept the work and what revisions are needed.

What makes our approach usefulWe explain the professional review process clearly and do not advertise automatic approval or stamping of drawings an engineer has not reviewed and accepted.
Drawing scope and deliverables

What your PE review and sealing drawing package can include

We define the actual drawings and documentation for your North Carolina project in writing. The examples below represent available scopes, not an automatic all-inclusive package.

North Carolina permitting

North Carolina review requirements depend on the site and work.

North Carolina licensed engineers determine whether they can take responsible charge over and seal the work. Their decisions cannot be overridden by the drafting provider or the permit applicant.

A professional may require additional calculations, redesign, inspections or field measurements before accepting an existing drawing for a seal.

Project-specific zoning, adopted code editions and plan review requirements must be confirmed with the city or county. See the North Carolina permit plan guide. Our drafting work is not a guarantee of permit approval or a substitute for surveying and independent licensed professional review where required.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about PE review and sealing

Can an engineer stamp plans already prepared by someone else?

Only if an appropriately licensed engineer independently reviews the documents, confirms the design basis and accepts professional responsibility under applicable rules.

Is a North Carolina PE seal guaranteed?

No. Approval to sign and seal is solely the reviewing professional's decision and depends on technical adequacy and a complete professional engagement.

Does this service include a survey?

A recorded plat or existing survey can be used as an input where appropriate, but boundary or topographic surveying is a separate professional service. The exact property documentation needed depends on the proposed work and jurisdiction.

Can the drawings be signed and sealed?

A North Carolina licensed architect or professional engineer may need to review, sign or seal portions of the work. Any required professional services must be specifically included in the proposal and accepted by that professional after independent review.

What if the permit reviewer requests changes?

Send written city or county comments. We assess corrections within the original contracted scope and identify extra services if the reviewer requires new disciplines, reports or changes to the original design. Permit approval remains with the jurisdiction.
